A Spring Update From Us: A Challenging Start, New Beginnings, and What’s Coming Next

2026 hasn’t exactly started the way we hoped. In January, Mr B had to undergo a partial foot amputation, and the months since have been a blur of hospital visits, complications, and recovery. As you can imagine, it’s put us a little behind with production and planning.

Even so, we opened the 2026 season for the two busy weeks of Easter in April — and we’re grateful to everyone who supported us during that time. After Easter, we took a short but much‑needed break to catch our breath and regroup. Since then, we’ve been back in the kitchen, restocking shelves, refining recipes, and reworking some of our classics to make them even better.

A Fresh Look for Our Jars

You’ll also notice something new on our shelves: updated labels. Mrs B has never been entirely happy with the previous designs, so she rolled up her sleeves and created something a little different. We hope you love the new look as much as we do.

Alongside the new labels, we’ve introduced a wider range of jar sizes for several products. You can now find our Cherry Jam, Gooseberry & Elderflower, Marmalade, and Strawberry Jam in 190g, 125g, and 35g jars.

The 35g jars will be available exclusively for trade, perfect for welcome hampers in holiday lets and Airbnbs. These smaller jars will also be available in:

  • Beetroot & Orange Chutney / Orange Marmalade
  • Cornish Cider Chutney / Strawberry Jam
  • Hot Chilli Jam / Gooseberry & Elderflower Jam
  • Plum & Ginger Chutney / Cherry Jam

They’re small, smart, and ideal for gifting or adding a special touch to guest stays.

Supporting Abi: A Tough Road Ahead

We’re also continuing our support for Abi, a Cornish para‑athlete who inspires us constantly. In her first outdoor competition of 2026, she achieved a personal best — a brilliant moment — but unfortunately suffered a ruptured Achilles shortly after. She now faces a long and difficult period of rehabilitation. Our support for her remains as strong as ever, and right now, it’s needed more than ever.

It’s been a challenging start to the year, but we’re still here, still creating, and still committed to bringing you the best of what we make. Thank you for sticking with us through the ups and downs. Your support means more than you know.
